Certificate III
(Foundation Programs )

Duration: 6 Months classes and 4 months on-the-job training

Eligibility: GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) 6 passes with 3 credits (inclusive of English Credit pass and Mathematics simple pass).

Students commence with one of the following Australian qualifications:

SIT30821 – Certificate III in Commercial Cookery

Pathway to Diploma

By successfully completing Certificate III, you unlock a direct pathway to IHMA’s Diploma of Hospitality Management. This next step empowers you to move confidently into supervisory and management roles, opening exciting career opportunities across the dynamic hospitality industry.

Credit Transfer (CT)

There is no need to repeat what you have already accomplished. If you have successfully completed accredited study at another recognized institution, you may be eligible for a Credit Transfer. Your completed units will be acknowledged and applied toward your new course of study.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Learning extends beyond the classroom. Through RPL, your professional experience, skills, and informal training can be formally assessed and recognized. This process allows your prior achievements to be converted into credits toward a qualification, ensuring that the value of your experience is fully acknowledged.

SIT50422 - Diploma of Hospitality Management

Prepare for a rewarding career in hospitality management. This nationally recognized diploma equips you with leadership, team management, and operational skills essential for success in the industry. Through hands-on training, you will gain practical experience in customer service, bar operations, and espresso coffee preparation.

You will also develop expertise in hospitality service, budgeting, marketing, and management of people, ensuring you graduate ready to step into roles such as:

  • Restaurant Manager
  • Sous Chef
  • Motel Manager

Entry Requirements: you may qualify for admission into the Diploma level at IHMA if you meet the following criteria

  • GCE Advanced Level (A/L) with 3 passes
  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Bachelor of Business in Hotel Management

Completion of the IHMA Diploma allows students to advance directly into the Bachelor of Business in Hotel Management program. The progression is structured as follows:

  • Year 1 – Exempted upon completion of the IHMA Diploma
  • Years 2 & 3 – Continue studies at an Australian University

This pathway provides a seamless transition from diploma-level qualifications to a recognized international bachelor’s degree, equipping students with advanced knowledge and global exposure in hotel management.
