Mr. Hiran Serasinghe is a highly respected hospitality professional with over three decades of experience in hotel management, tourism development, and hospitality education, both in Sri Lanka and internationally.

Mr. Hiran Serasinghe is a highly respected hospitality professional with over three decades of experience in hotel management, tourism development, and hospitality education, both in Sri Lanka and internationally. Throughout his distinguished career, he has held several senior leadership positions in globally recognized hotel chains and has made significant contributions to the development of the hospitality and tourism sector.

He holds the distinction of being the first Sri Lankan to be appointed General Manager of a five-star internationally managed hotel in Sri Lanka, leading The Oberoi Hotel Colombo (formerly Hotel Lanka Oberoi). He later served as General Manager of Ramada Renaissance Colombo Hotel, where he successfully managed large-scale hotel operations and maintained international service standards.

Mr. Serasinghe began his career as a management trainee at the Oberoi School of Hotel Management in New Delhi, one of Asia’s leading hospitality training institutions. Over the years, he progressed through several senior managerial roles, including leadership positions at major hospitality establishments such as Pegasus Reef Hotel, gaining extensive experience in hotel operations, strategic management, and staff development.

In addition to his operational leadership in hotels, Mr. Serasinghe has also contributed extensively to the broader tourism sector as a consultant on several tourism and hospitality development initiatives within both the government and private sectors. His expertise has been sought in areas such as hotel operations, hospitality training, tourism planning, and service quality standards.

He has also been actively involved in industry organizations and tourism promotion. Mr. Serasinghe currently serves as Vice President of the Sri Lanka Chapter of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), where he supports regional tourism development and industry collaboration.

With his deep industry knowledge, international exposure, and commitment to professional development, Mr. Serasinghe continues to contribute to the hospitality sector through advisory roles, mentoring, and consultancy, helping to guide and inspire the next generation of hospitality professionals.
